tired to the max!!!!

juz got back from 京东大峡谷 with junie and deqiang. it's a grand canyon at the outskirts of beijing. i think we are all supermen. we started the day by waking up at 245am to watch the champions league final. then at ard 430am we started making sushi for picnic later in the day. it was quite funny to see the sushi getting from very big to small small size. we were too ambitious at the start den ended up putting so much ingredients tt the sushi cannot be wrapped. we had "bahu-ham-cucumber-egg" sushi.

den at 6am we left the house. took a mrt den transferred to a bus, which took 1hr 30mins to reach 平谷. den transferred to yet another mini-bus which brought us to the 大峡谷 entrance. seemed like such a long day already but it was only 10am when we were all set to go.

we were greeted by 167 steps at the entrance! what a way to start the trip, so we decided to count every single step we climbed up for the day. there's a 走钢丝 activity but it seemed quite boring bcoz of all the safety netting, so we gave it a miss. it was followed by 水上吊篮. it's a flying-fox look alike thing, juz tt we get to sit in a basket instead of our own harness. the most amazing part is that the whole thing is man-powered. for the first part, the force carrying u forward is ur own weight, den it will come to a leveled part where u can continue moving only bcoz there's a man at the other side turning the wheel. i pity the guy's job!

den we continued our journey climbing more and more steps..... basically the place is full of steps and slopes. haha. there are 5 there, each unique in their own way. with waterfalls and alot of water activities. so at 11am we reached the halfway mark and sat down for our lunch. yummy sushi!!

after walking for awhile more, we completed the whole park except for the part tt can only be reached by cable car. the challenging part has yet to come. awaiting us was this endless flight of steps, and they are not juz normal easy-to-walk steps. they are in all kinds of shapes and sizes and there will be trees in ur way to add to the obstacles. it took us 366 steps to reach the peak! crazy climb but it was definitely challenging and lotsa fun! feels great to stand on top of everything else and juz look into the distance. we were so impressed by this old couple who climbed up all the steep steps and at a v fast speed. 厉害!! =)

the going down was tougher in the sense tt it is v bad for the knees. by the time we exit the place it was only 3pm. we decided to reward ourselves with a good meal. always wanted to try their 蹲鱼 so we had 烤蹲鱼 and 炒蘑菇. the fish was good. it's one of the few times we get to eat fresh fish in china (esp those without so much bones).

since it was still early, we decided to go fruit-picking at the farm areas. pretty cool. first time i picked fruits myself. we chose peaches and strawberries. although it's more expensive than normal, but it's the experience tt matters!

after tt was home sweet home. but the queue for the bus back was a nightmare. we queued for abt 40mins.... totally reminded me of ystd.

total steps count for the day: 984!!! (not including the going down steps)

this wkend was exhausting, both physically and money-wise.haha.. as quoted from junie, it's a "scream-ur-lungs-out saturday" and a "walk-till-u-die sunday".... but it was no doubt fun!!! =)

juz got back from 欢乐谷 with junie, deqiang, yinyue and jeffrey! it's an amusement park near our place. tks abt 20rmb to cab there. we started off great coz gt a lady had extra student tickets and she wanna sell to us at 125rmb (the original price is 140rmb). we kinda doubted her at first but she said can pay her when we get into the park and everything went smoothly. yeah money saved! =)

the rides were seriously crowded, ranging from half an hour to 2 hrs of waiting time. we took 8 rides in total and watched a pretty lame show at the v end.

1) trojan horse 特洛伊木马
waiting time: 30min
the first ride of the day.
nothing special, juz the usual spinning up and down machine tt every amusement park will have.

2) jungle racing 丛林飞车
waiting time: 30mins
very mild roller coaster.
mild until i can take photos when it is on the move. took it coz the queue seemed short and all the other exciting rides were nt opened yet.

3) golden wings in snowfield 雪域金翅
waiting time: 1hr
360 degrees leg-hanging roller coaster.
pretty cool. yinyue's saliva was all over her when the ride ended.. ewwww. and jeffrey's expression was classic.

4) twin-tower heroes 天地双雄
waiting time: 30mins
free-fall tower.
shiok. i think this is the first time i put both my hands up in the air for the whole ride. crazy experience.

5) flying ant squad 飞蚁战队
waiting time: 15mins
flying swing.
one of my fav rides at any amusement park thou it's juz a simple non-exciting ride. i love the wind in my face. somebody vomited on lucky yinyue when we got down from the ride. totally disgusting, can see tt she had alot of tomatoes for lunch. haha!

6) disk "O"
waiting time: 30mins
some spinning up and down thing again.
i lost my necklace pendant on this one! sad.... lost memories. underestimated the ride. i thought it's juz another mild ride so din tk it out. but the ride itself was fun! we all held hands high in the air and screamed until we got so tired.

7) crystal wing 水晶神翼
waiting time: 45mins
superman roller coaster.
the most unique ride in the park. i've nv seen something like this in any other amusement parks i had been to. it's a roller coaster where u sit facing downwards, so it feels like u are superman, literally in the flying position. damn cool... feels much more scarier than it actually is.

8) apollo wheel 太阳神车
waiting time: 1hr 30mins
longest waiting time! it felt like ages when we queued for the ride, partly bcoz we were already v tired by the end of the day and the sun was still scorching hot. but trust me, it's worth the wait. it's a pirate ship alike thing juz tt the wheel spins as it goes up. and it goes so much higher, maybe 150 degrees more it will reach 360 le. v crazy ride to end the day with. and i let go of my hands again! hair was flying everywhere and they caught a photo of me looking like a super crazy woman.

that's all the rides we took. although the park closes at 10pm, most of the rides were closed before tt. so at around 530pm, we left the park. i wldnt mind repeating some of the rides but we were all too tired i guess. and some of them were feeling dizzy. lol...

we really wanted to tk "the odyssey", the plunging down ride tt will splash alot of water. but the waiting time was crazy (abt 2hrs). so we gave it up. when the boat plunged in, it's the greatest amount and furthest distance of water splashed up tt i've seen before.

yeah a fun day! i love amusement parks.. we are thinking of going again next year but on a weekday instead. then we can avoid the crowd and get to go as many rounds as we like. anw they are building a new section which includes yet another roller coaster! it will be ready by summer vacation this year.

tml will be another tiring day. we are going 京东大峡谷.
